Austism Awareness- OPI Simmer and Shimmer

Hey guys! I hope you all had an amazing weekend! I sure did! My senior prom was last night and it was great! I went with a purple fish egg manicure that I unfortunately wasn't able to get a picture of. Oh well, I could always just recreate it sometime in the future. To be honest I went a little overboard on the caviar manicures to do another one anytime soon, lol!
For today I went with using one of the polishes I got when I first started hoarding collecting nail polish.  I got all of the burlesque glitters for Christmas that year actually. I don't really pull them out that often because I don't get the best wear out of them and they get SUPER goopey! Even after drops and drops of OPI Nail Lacquer thinner its still finicky. It's not really worth my time fighting with it to wear them all that often.  But I do LOVE these whenever I pull them out.  Simmer and Shimmer is totally worth it after you finish applying it!

I hope everyone has a great Monday!

April Showers Challenge: Matte Magic

I have another challenge for you guys! To be completely honest, I'm a little shocked I've even able to keep up with all of these! I usually get bored within the first 3 challenges, I guess Hannah just did a great job with coming up with them!

This was my matte magic! I'm not sure what to call this...but I love the way it turned out! I originally wanted to do some sort of ruffian manicure, but I wasn't satisfied with that so I just kept adding more layers until I got to the very end. It's not exactly perfect but it gets the job done.

1st layer: Don't Mess With OPI
2nd layer: WnW Caribbean Frost
3rd layer: ChG Trendsetter
4th: ChG Near Dark
5th layer: Don't Mess With OPI

Hopefully I'll have some more posts up soon....the week before prom gets crazy!

April Showers Challenge- Glitter Tips!

I'm not even going to lie to you guys, I had to airbrush the s*** out of my cuticles and they still look that bad. Tonight I shall be attacking them with that good ol Sally Hansen cuticle remover in the blue bottle.

For the challenge today I did glitter tips! LOVE this look. My base color is one that I got from my Spring Surprise gift! Not only is it my first Finger Paints polish, but I've wanted to get a color like this for a while, which is Vintage Velvet, and for my gradient tips I used WnW Diamond in the Rough and Spoiled Jewelry Heist.

April Showers Challenge/ Autism Awareness- Blue Ombre

Hey y'all! I hope everything with you guys has been going great! I have an blue ombre for you today! I actually did my first ombre back in the beginning of April when my best friend came to visit on my toes using black and grays, but I'm in love with my blue one! It's such a striking look but so simple to create. I only had to franken one color for my middle finger with the polish from my ring finger and pointer finger.  I need to do a lot more of these....

Pinky- Hard Candy Sky
Ring Finger- ChG For Audrey
Middle Finger- Franken
Pointer Finger-Sinful Why Not
Thumb(not shown)-ChG First Mate

April Showers Challenge: A rainbow after the rain

Hey y'all! I know I haven't been posting much lately. My cuticle are having a fit now that flag football has started during my PE class and it's super cold outside! I love football (if you can't tell) but my hands aren't having it. :(

Here's my rainbow after the rain!

I used WnW Teal of Fortune on all of my fingers. Then I  used 3 types of flakies for the ring finger, Inglot 203 and 204 and Essie Shine of the Times to get my perfect rainbow effect!

I hope you guys have a great weekend!

Autism Awareness Mouth- Blue Spun Sugar

Hello gorgeous! I haven't posted much lately because I'm getting ready for my prom that's on the 28th! I finally found my dress, and I've set up my hair appointment with one of my good friends, ordered the boutonniere (I chose a calla lily for him), have my shoes already, and all I have left to do is pick up the tickets, get my eyebrows waxed and choose what I want on my nails.  My dress is a very jewel toned almost vibrant purple (think Essie Sexy Divide). I think I'll do a cavier manicure or something else that would be fun...

I must say I'm particularity in love with the "spun sugar" manicures, even though they can be a pain in the butt to do if you're impatient like me! I used Zoya Codie as the base hoping it would give sort of a chocolate vibe to it.  If you ask me I'd say that it does, plus it helps the blue pop off the background.  For my blues I used ChG For Audrey and Sinful Colors Why not.  Because I'm so impatient and couldn't wait for the strings to get a little more wispy, my "spun sugar" are a little bit chunkier and I love it!

My pinky is my favorite!

Petites-Craze

Ya'll I got to visit a Rite Aid while I was in New York, and it was right down the street from my hotel! I was so excited!  You may be thinking I'm a huge idiot because the thought of a drug store excites me so much, but we don't have Rite Aids in Chicago! I picked up a couple of polishes from there before I went to go see Priscilla Queen of the Dessert on Broadway. Which, I highly highly recommend if you're looking for a fun show to go to, and love drag queens LOL.

One of the polishes I picked up was Craze, a gorgeous fuchsia glitter in a clear base. I needed about 4 coats to get it completely opaque. It's a hungry glitter and needed about 3 coats of topcoat to smooth down, and as you can imagine it wasn't the easiest to remove!
But, look at that cap! What the heck is up with it?! It doesn't fit but it completely closes so there aren't any leaks, but it's not esthetically pleasing to look at.  I can't really complain for $1.99 a bottle though.

April Showers Bring May Flowers Challege- April Showers

Hey y'all! I had my ASVAB test today and I passed! I'm so so so excited! I was so nervous this morning I woke up about 6 to get ready and do my nails to see if that would calm me down. I ended up deciding to do another challenge manicure. I'm not exactly fond of how my ring finger turned out with the raindrop, but for freaking out as much as I did I really like it! I used Zoya Jane as my base for every finger except my ring and thumb, which I used China Glaze Pelican Gray.  Originally I was just going to do a simple manicure using Jane, thinking that at least having polish on my nails would calm me down a bit(it didn't if you were wondering), so I then I went on with sponging on Sea Spray and a Color Club glitter that I can't remember the name of, but was part of the 2011 Holiday Collection....

This is what I came up with! No clean up....

This isn't the worlds best picture, and there really isn't excuse for all the topcoat smeared around my cuticles but I was nervous.

I hope you guys have an amazing weekend!

April Showers Bring May Flowers Challenge-Glitter Sammy

Hey darlin! I got another challenge post! 3 days and I'm actually keeping up with it this time!

Today I did the glitter sammy challenge using China Glaze Near Dark, and for my glitter Sinful Green Ocean. I love how this turned out because its a little unconventional using such a dark color but since Near Dark is a jelly it worked out perfectly! I need to remember doing a glitter sandwichs more often.

1 coat of Nail Envy, 1 coat Gelous, 2 coats Near Dark, 2 coats of Green Ocean, 1 coat Near Dark and then to top it off 2 coats of NYC fast dry topcoat.
This was my first time using Green Ocean and its amazing! It has glitter and flakies in it!

April Showers Challenge-Ladybugs!

Howdy! I hope ya'll had a great Easter or Passover this weekend! I have another challenge post! 2 down 12 to go! LOL! I hope I actually make it this time!
My...ahem...interesting looking lady bug. I used China Glaze Hey Sailor! as my base, which is one of my favorite polishes just because of the name.  I'm not sure if many of you guys know, but once I graduate from high school (June 10th!) I'm joining the US Navy! I orginally bought the entire Anchors Away Collection because of my big brother who's also a Sailor, but as things turn out, I'm going to one too!
Anyways! I used Wet n' Wild Black Creme and some cheapy white polish for the eyes.

I can't wait to show you guys glitter sandwich nails next!

Autism Awareness Manicure-Revlon Whimsical

Hola Chicas! I found Revlon Whimsical! Two to be exact, one for me and one for Spring Surprise lady on PAA. It took forever, but my local Meyers now has an entire row in the Revlon display devoted to them.
I used one coat of Whimsical over two coats of China Glaze Sea Spray.  These guys are made for each other! I actually surprised at how almost peaceful this polish looks. I've always associated light blues as calming and relaxing. As always my cuticles look happy don't they? I think I need to stop using pure acetone on them...

Stay tuned for more of my blue manicures!

Austism Awareness-Saved by the Blue

Hey Ya'll, as many of you guys know April is Autism Awareness Month, and because of that I'll be painting my nails blue for the next month.  The first blue I used was WnW Saved by the Blue, and I used white and blue to water marble an accent nail. It completely reminds me of those white and blue china patterns! My topcoat smudged the water marble a bit, but it's only noticeable when using macro.

Water Marble

Hey guys! I hope you can forgive me for posting another manicure that I took with my iPad. I can't find my camera right now! And I had other nail pictures to show you guys ugh! I know it's somewhere around my house just right now I can't find it unfortunately.
I did a very successful water marble last night! I love the way it came out and even added some dots to make it look like butterfly wings. I can't remember who's blog I saw with those but that's where I got my inspiration. I used a bunch of different polished sponged on to create the base color, and then for the marble I used China Glaze White Cap and WnW Black Creme.

Pastel Challenge!

I started a new challenge that *hopefully* I actually can keep up with! Day #1 was pastels, lately I've really wanted to do a skittles mani so pastel skittles it is! I love all of the polishes used in this it looks super Eastery too!

I used ChG Lemon Fizz, Butter LONDON Teddy Girl, Hard Candy Sky and Revlon Minted and Lilac Pastelle.
