Buffy the Violet Slayer and Shine of the Times

My grumpy old puppy, Otis

Bonnie Blue

The weather in the Chi has been amazing lately! I spent a good part of the morning "tanning" with my cat Bonnie Blue and my doggies, and by tanning I mean me in a bikini slathered in sun screen because my irish skin only burns!
Bonnie Blue is my cat with special needs, she has cerebellar hypoplasia, and is the sweetest, cutest thing cat I've ever had. I adopted her from an animal shelter  8 years ago when she was a kitten, and it's sure been an adventure. The shelter staff didn't think she'd ever be able to use the stairs properly, since she has issues with her back legs. While she was still a baby, I managed to teach  her how to go down the stairs and up the stairs, and she has no issues with getting around the house like they thought! She's been a complete blessing to me, and most people don't understand her condition and kittens born with this are usually put to sleep because they think they're in pain.  Here's a video that explains everything perfectly!

Here's today manicure, WnW Buffy the Violet Slayer, and Essie Shine of  the Times.  BTVS is one of my favorite purples and I always forget about wearing it. SOTT is so pretty on top of this! My only complaint is that I don't see the green flashes as much over this.

We're done

SHIELD YOUR EYES YA'll

Dear Make Mine Lime,
We're done.  As gorgeous as you are, you ruined my nails.  You stained my nail bed beyond belief and turned my cuticles yellow.
Sorry but you're not pretty enough for me to deal with that.

Sinful Colors-Last Chance

Guess what ya'll? I got another green for you! Last Chance is gorgeous isn't it? It's squishy and almost jelly like but also very opaque, which is a huge plus for me. I actually wore this for a couple of day which explains the tip wear. I love how dark this green is but doesn't pull black on me while I'm in doors. Although some lighting does make it turn a sort of navy color on me, it still flashes green.
I defiantly need to remember to pull this out a lot more. I always need a go to dark that isn't William Tell Me OPI.  This would probably make for a gorgeous pedi color as well....

Hard Candy Sweet P

No clean up.  Two coats over Make Mine Lime. The first time I ever tried to photograph Sweet P it turned out looking way to sparse after using the macro function.  The base really helps with pictures, and seemed to let the green of Sweet P pop.  Such a pretty glitter, best way to describe it lol.

Had to show you my little helper. That's Trudie. She's the kitten I found behind my garbage can when she was 3 weeks old.  She's 9 months old now, and still gets into a heap of trouble around my house! She LOVES "helping" me paint swatch wheels (she steps on them right when they get tacky and leaves foot prints and little hairs) and escaping out the back door when I'm taking pictures.

Make Mine Lime

I have another green polish to show you guys but, before that I have a teeny tiny rant for you guys. Nail Envy is NOT working for me as well as I expected it to.  I'm kind of sad about that, to tell the truth, I was hoping for it to be my holy grail product. I'm going to continue to use it until I run out and then maybe try something else. $16 is a lot to spend on a nail treatment that isn't working for me, especially since I've getting peelies like no ones business and they don't look/feel any stronger than before.  If anyone has any suggestion I'd love to hear!

Nicole by OPI Make Mine Lime
HATE my cuticles and the break I had right after I applied this. Always a break right after I decide to grow out my nails, I ended up filing them to a length I think is my favorite, and it makes my triangle nail beds look less triangley. Plus, I attacked my cuticles and they look a lot nicer now!  My friend Mikey got me this for Christmas, and normally I wouldn't pick this out for myself but this is beautiful, even if it is on the sheer side (I used 3 coats). The tiny shimmers it are so beautiful. I'm defiantly going to wear this again.

Green River

I got diet Green River! This is why I love St. Patrick's Day, Shamrock Shakes and I can get DIET Green River(I hate regular pop)  Must find a green polish that matches Green River.

Four Leaf Clover.  I don't think it's possible to capture a completely accurate picture of this. Under no means is this a match for the green in my beloved pop, but it was worth a try, and the name seemed fitting for my mood today.  I have no idea what kind of green I'd call this because it's almost kelly green but it's not because it seems to have a blueish undertone. Perfect for St. Patrick's Day though...

Greeeeeeeeeennn!

It's march! THAT MEANS SHAMROCK SHAKES! And I guess wearing green polish more than I normally do.  For real though, I live for shamrock shakes and St. Patrick's Day. I'm actually very Irish so this holiday kinda means a lot to me!

My first St. Patrick's Day mani! There's a little bit of chips and tip wear after working in the training room this afternoon.  It was actually a very noticeable gradient, but was oddly hard to capture in the picture.  I used China Glaze's Starboard, Westside Warrior, and Near Dark for the gradient and Sinful Color's Nail Junkie over all of that. I love the way this turned out. I've never used NJ over anything that wasn't blue before, so I was so surprised how much I liked it over green.

I hope you guys have a great friday!
