Gold and Red Saran Wrap Marble

Happy Monday! I haven't updated in a while and I've missed you guys!
Tomorrow I start my first day of class at TUBC! I'm a mixture of excited, and nervous as hell...to be honest, I've never gone to ANY school by myself before.  I've always been right next to my twin, so this is a completely new experience for me! I'm not sure if I'm more excited that school's starting or that during orientation I found out I get 50% off on all the new OPI collections that are available at my schools product store!

So here's my last manicure before I have to chop my nails down to nubbins to meet dress code. This is what I wore to my cousins fiancees bridal shower on Sunday.  Her wedding colors are black, gold, and red, so I figured I'd might as well go along!
I used two coats of Sally Hansen Black Out, and Essie Good as Gold marbled with saran wrap except on my ring finger which is OPI An Affair in Red Square.

There is definitely a learning curve to this technique, as you can see on my pinky finger, I not only lifted up the gold, but the black as well revealing some of my nail.  I didn't bother fixing it, you couldn't really tell from far away.

I hope you all have a great week!

Zoya Wedneday and Essie A Cut Above

Heya! I hope y'all have had a great weekend! Mine was semi-eventful because my best friend is back in town from Arkansas! I was so EXCITED to see her! She went through my new helmer (I made Elle into my nail polish hoarder apprentice lol), and she met Woody as well!

Before I can buy any new polish I have to get through ALL of my untried polishes.  I haven't counted all of them, but its mostly China Glaze On Safari and Hunger Games Collection, a couple of Essie's, and a handful of other randoms.
Here's 2 of those in the untried stash, Zoya Wednesday and Essie A Cut Above. Wednesday applied beautifully as most of my Zoya's do in 2 perfect coats. Wednesday has that China Glaze For Audrey type of look but to me it seems dustier.

Then I applied Essie A Cut Above. 1 coat ,and it applied nicely.

In other news...my twin, David,  Found. This. Blog. I'm not sure if I've mentioned this before, but I haven't told ANYONE about this besides my sorta boyfriend.  It was a lot less awkward than I thought, bit I made him promise he would tell no one.  Not that I'm embarrassed but because of the simple fact that my mother would readily tell everyone, and um, no thanks. My entire family doesn't need to know.

Essie Penny Talk

Happy Thursday!

Meet my new baby! That's Woody, a stray we found, he(or she we haven't checked yet) decided to take up residence in our woodshed. I don't think he could have chosen a better place to stay, he didn't want anything to do with us at first, but now he knows who's feeding him and even comes when he's called.  I'm not sure if he'll be staying with us for very long though. :(
He has an appointment at the vet on Saturday. A part of me hopes he'll be a new member of my family, but at the same time if he has a family I hope we can find them. I can't imagine why a Persian cat would be a stray...

He looks so angry in these...I just think it's his squished face.  He was helping me take polish pictures :)

Essie Penny Talk. Looks completely different on the nail than in the bottle.
I was expecting a copper color but I'm really happy with the rose gold.
he formula still sucks though...its one of those that you just have to get used too. I applied one thick coat using as little strokes as possible, the second coat I applied a little thinner and was careful not to over work the polish. I didn't use a topcoat with this, good thing it drys so fast.

Essie Stroke of Brilliance

Happy Tuesday!

Look how pretty! Essie Stroke of Brilliance over Essie Chinchilly, which is actually a pairing that Essie suggested on their promos for this new addition to the Luxeffects collection.  I got this along with A Cut Above, they're the perfect siblings!
I didn't do any cleanup on these because the power went out last night, and didn't come back on until 1 this afternoon.  Needless to say I was not a happy camper, and I was *this far* away from calling ComEd, and acting like the typical pissed off female. I thought it took them WAY to long to figure it out what the problem was, but that was just the hot, grumpy, sleep deprived Tess thinking, not the rational Tess thinking that the ComEd people are working as hard as they possibly can.  Thankfully I held myself back and whined to my brother about it when he got back from his camping trip.  :)
This is 3 coats Chinchilly and 1 coat Stroke of Brilliance.  So pretty.  I've been on a glitter kick lately, and this is a perfect! I had no problems applying it, and it dried pretty quickly.

Unfortunately for me, I'm on my first ever no buy.  My guy and I are planning on taking our first vacation together in December(granted I'm not active duty), and I need to start saving up. Which is sad, but I CAN NOT wait to go wherever we end up going together!

I hope you guys have a great day!

April Showers Challenge: A rainbow after the rain

Hey y'all! I know I haven't been posting much lately. My cuticle are having a fit now that flag football has started during my PE class and it's super cold outside! I love football (if you can't tell) but my hands aren't having it. :(

Here's my rainbow after the rain!

I used WnW Teal of Fortune on all of my fingers. Then I  used 3 types of flakies for the ring finger, Inglot 203 and 204 and Essie Shine of the Times to get my perfect rainbow effect!

I hope you guys have a great weekend!

Buffy the Violet Slayer and Shine of the Times

My grumpy old puppy, Otis

Bonnie Blue

The weather in the Chi has been amazing lately! I spent a good part of the morning "tanning" with my cat Bonnie Blue and my doggies, and by tanning I mean me in a bikini slathered in sun screen because my irish skin only burns!
Bonnie Blue is my cat with special needs, she has cerebellar hypoplasia, and is the sweetest, cutest thing cat I've ever had. I adopted her from an animal shelter  8 years ago when she was a kitten, and it's sure been an adventure. The shelter staff didn't think she'd ever be able to use the stairs properly, since she has issues with her back legs. While she was still a baby, I managed to teach  her how to go down the stairs and up the stairs, and she has no issues with getting around the house like they thought! She's been a complete blessing to me, and most people don't understand her condition and kittens born with this are usually put to sleep because they think they're in pain.  Here's a video that explains everything perfectly!

Here's today manicure, WnW Buffy the Violet Slayer, and Essie Shine of  the Times.  BTVS is one of my favorite purples and I always forget about wearing it. SOTT is so pretty on top of this! My only complaint is that I don't see the green flashes as much over this.

Twin Mani Pedi- Essie Sexy Divide and Confetti Tazmanian Devil

For anyone who doesn't know, I have the most AMAZING twin brother ever. He's my best friend, the smartest, kindest, funniest guy I've ever known, and he happily lets me give him pedicures.  That's a real man right there. It started as a way for him to get a foot massage, but now he has started asking just to get his polish changed, so he must love it right? Most of the time he'll let me chose the polish, but sometimes he'll know what he wants before we start.
I didn't do a complete pedi this time just a quick polish change, and both of our cuticles are looking a bit rough.
I used Essie Sexy Divide and then topped it with Confetti Tazmanian Devil.

Before Clean Up
I love how this glitter has all different sizes of glitter, I especially love the teeny tiny shimmer glitter particles that are different colors.  This in my opinion is a way better version of OPI Rainbow Connection, just because of those tiny glitter pieces.

Essie Shine of the Times

My first flakie ever! Unless you count the one I bought from Meyer's for 2 bucks, but I've never actually worn...I should get on that shouldn't I? I FINALLY found Essie's Shine of the Times along with finally getting my hands on some OPI Nail Envy at my local target.  It's either the nail fairies are good to me and they have everything they need, or they don't. Slightly frustrating, but as long as I eventually get what I want I'm good.   I used Nail Envy as my base,William Tell Me About OPI and Shine of the Time over all of that.  Its. So. Gorgeous.  I never thought I'd love flakies as much as I love this.  My lovely friend Marissa, who sits at my table in my Parenting Class spent a good amount of class time moving my fingers back and forth so she could see the flakies change colors lol! She's such a cutie, always looking at what I've done to my nails.

Tip wear... I know...

That's why I used a funky french to cover it up so I could have these gorgeous nails for one more day!

Saint Nicholas would beat you?

I hope all of you guys had a wonderful Christmas! This year was more of a quiet one for me and my family, with the big brother and my mother's side of the family gone.  I was planning on more of a xmas skittle mani, but I guess it just wasn't in the cards for me.  So I stuck with just a simple reindeer, on my middle finger.  Classy lady as always.  To be honest, that really wasn't planned that way.  I added the reindeer before I gave up on the Christmas skittles.  ChG Ruby Pumps, and OPI Suzi loves Cowboys.

The twin got me chincilly for christmas! I've been wanting it for so long, but every-time I go and think about getting it I always put it back.  But now I have it, and it's mine lol.
