Its been a while!

I've missed you guys! Life has been crazy lately and I feel so bad that I haven't been posting. Class has been keeping me crazy busy from 9-5 tuesday to saturday.  Luckily, I LOVE it.  I've been learning SO much about skincare.
It does make me sad that my face, neck, and decollate look amazing, but for the first time in a while my nails and cuticles are looking so awful. :-(
Anyways. Here's my nails. I did a super quick mani with some nail art. I love the way these turned out, and they were a huge hit with the ladies in my esthetics class!
I hope you guys have an amazing sunday!

China Glaze Jungle Queen

Happy Wednesday!

I know I promise I'd get back to posting more regularly, and I haven't.  I had a nasty, infected ingrown nail, and I wouldn't want to subject you to having to witness the ugliness.

Now that my nail is all back to normal, I have China Glaze Jungle Queen to show you.  This is two coats, and applied beautifully, I have a but more gap than usual because I pushed back my cuticles without thinking before I took this photo.  I also took a good chunk out of my ring finger with a paring knife...which is why I have the awkward, scary, clumpy tip going on.

Look! It's even scarier up close!

Ah...Jungle Queen.  So pretty.  In the shade, I love the smokey greyish purple but in the sun it's stunning.  The gorgeous purple flash you see in the bottle comes out to play.

In other news, I started a new blog to track my progress in my weight loss, and my enlistment process.  The name is just a place holder until I come up with a better name.  If you're interested in reading it you can click here.

China Glaze Electrify

HAPPY FRIDAY!

1 coat China Glaze Adventure Red-y
1 coat China Glaze Electrify
1 coat Gelous
1 coat NYC Topcoat

When I first applied Electrify, I'm not going to lie, I hated it.  But, I took my lazy butt out into the sun, and I fell in love.  The gold and red glows beautifully over Adventure Red-y.

Hmm...I guess I'm a woman of few words today, I really have nothing else to write.

I hope you guys have an amazing weekend!

Purple Stripes and Polka Dots

Hi! I've missed you guys! To be honest I don't have any excuse for not posting. To be honest, life hasn't been all that exciting, since I won't be returning to school in the fall like my twin, and the enlistment process for the US Navy hasn't progressed at all.
Probably won't help that I've gained around uh..15 pounds...which is 15 pounds heavier than my weight limit.  So I'm back on the Soup Diet, which (thankfully) I lose 15 pounds in 7 days while I'm on it.  I know, I know, it's not necessarily what you'd consider to be healthy...but it works very well, even if it does get me incredibly sick for a week.

In better news, I have a manicure to show you guys! I'm super excited about it because I knocked off 3 untried from my list, and I used some striping tape!

I started off by apply 2 coats of Julep Isla which was one of the polish's in my August Maven Box.

Because it was disgustingly brushstroke-tastic, I sponged on a 3rd coat of Isla.  Which looked so much better than if I left it alone, even if I did get a couple of bubbles that showed up after sponging.
Oh, that's Jackie, she's my twins Guinea Pig, and my buddy while he cleans out her cage.

I originally didn't plan to use Nubar Black Polka Dot, but it looks so pretty next to the pop of color on my ring finger!
For my ring finger I used striping tape, and painted on a gradient type look using Funky Fingers Riot, Confetti Belle of the Ball and China Glaze Sweet Hook.

I promise I'll get on to posting more!

China Glaze Purr-fect Plum and Doll House!

Happy Friday!
I have two of my untried polishes to show you...China Glaze Purr-fect Plum and Dollhouse.  Purr-fect Plum is a beautifu plum pinky creme.  Applied beautifully, the formula was a little thinner than I thought it would be but, I didn't have any of problems with it.  2 coats.

And then there's Doll House.  This was one of those polishes that I always meant to get around to picking up ever since I started collecting polish, and now finally have it! Dollhouse is just a simple large pink hex glitter in a clear base. I honestly can't remember how many coats I used...but I think it was around 4 or 5.

I hope you guys have an amazing weekend!

Essie Good as Gold and China Glaze Man Hunt

Hey guys! I know its been forever since I posted last, and so much has been going on since then! I'm sorry I haven't updated.  I bought a helmer, got my hands on the entire China Glaze On Safari collection, and the Essie Mirrored Metallics, as well as some polishes from random China Glaze collections.

Here's my latest manicure! Super simple polka dots using China Glaze Man Hunt and Essie Good as Gold. I've been really into navy and gold lately, I'm not sure if its because my enlistment process is somewhat sorta on its way to finally starting(thankfully),or its just because they look amazingly fabulous together.
I'm LOVING all of the On Safari collection, Man Hunt applied beautifully and was perfect in 2 coats.

I can't say as much for Good as Gold, it was a pain to apply! I must have taken off my ring finger at least twice because of the streakiest, and bubbles that happened because I was over working the polish as I was applying it. Annoying yes, but Good as Gold is SO pretty I'd consider it worth it.

Rainbow Favorites: Day 3 Green China Glaze Westside Warrior

Hey guys! I was SO excited to be able to pull out this baby again. Westside Warrior is my go to dark green, because it's flippin gorgeous! This is 2 coats, no topcoat.

This is one of those polishes that I pull out when I need a pick me up. Whenever I'm lonely and missing  my polish enabler/sorta boyfriend, who is in the army, I pull this out.  Green is his favorite color and since Westside Warrior is an "army" green color it fits perfectly, and really helps when he's not around. Sounds weird I know, but the little things definitely  do make things a lot better, even if it's just me painting my nails.
I should try doing a camo with this shouldn't I?!

Check out everyone else who's partipating!

China Glaze Smoke and Ashes

2 coats
Happy Thursday! I hope everyone's week has been going well so far! Today, I have one of the polishes I picked up during the sale at Sally's last week.  China Glaze Smoke and Ashes, I know I'm a little late on the band wagon with the Hunger Games Collection, because at first I wasn't all amazed by them. BUT, they were on sale for $1.65 and I couldn't pass them up!

Holy Crap.  How much more gorgeous could Smoke and Ashes get?
The glass flaked in this are stunning. The blue-black mixed with the glass flakes in this is so elegant, and stunning!

Who's ready for Friday??

SOPI- It's Real 18k Topcoat

It's been a long time since I posted! I've been super busy lately though, I graduated, and my friend came up from Miami to see me, and couldn't really find anytime to write any posts.

SOPI It's Real 18k Topcoat. This is one coat over ChG Westside Warrior.

I love this so much, I do think it was worth $30, especially when you can justify getting it like I did, as my graduation present to myself.  Although I do wish the gold flakes were a little bit bigger, as you can see they're super tiny, so they don't show up very well on anything that isn't dark.

I added a black light topcoat when my friends and I decided to go putt-putt...I love how you can still see the gold flakes! Except I did realize how awful I am at just quickly apply a topcoat...look at those flooded cuticles!

Have a great week!

ASBMF: Chicks and Eggs

11 down 3 more to go! I can't believe I'm almost done with this challenge!

For today's challenge I did a simple french manicure using ChG Lemon Fizz and WnW french creme.  Super simple but I loved how the yellow and white french reminded me of chicks coming out of their eggs!
Lemon Fizz was a pain the butt to apply though, I don't know what got into my bottle, but there were little black hairy type things coming off the brush every time! I guess I just need a new bottle.  It was super streaky and I needed 3 coats for it to become perfect.  I'm in LOVE with pale yellows now...does anyone know of any other good ones to get?

Have a great weekend!

April Showers Challenge: Matte Magic

I have another challenge for you guys! To be completely honest, I'm a little shocked I've even able to keep up with all of these! I usually get bored within the first 3 challenges, I guess Hannah just did a great job with coming up with them!

This was my matte magic! I'm not sure what to call this...but I love the way it turned out! I originally wanted to do some sort of ruffian manicure, but I wasn't satisfied with that so I just kept adding more layers until I got to the very end. It's not exactly perfect but it gets the job done.

1st layer: Don't Mess With OPI
2nd layer: WnW Caribbean Frost
3rd layer: ChG Trendsetter
4th: ChG Near Dark
5th layer: Don't Mess With OPI

Hopefully I'll have some more posts up soon....the week before prom gets crazy!

April Showers Challenge/ Autism Awareness- Blue Ombre

Hey y'all! I hope everything with you guys has been going great! I have an blue ombre for you today! I actually did my first ombre back in the beginning of April when my best friend came to visit on my toes using black and grays, but I'm in love with my blue one! It's such a striking look but so simple to create. I only had to franken one color for my middle finger with the polish from my ring finger and pointer finger.  I need to do a lot more of these....

Pinky- Hard Candy Sky
Ring Finger- ChG For Audrey
Middle Finger- Franken
Pointer Finger-Sinful Why Not
Thumb(not shown)-ChG First Mate

Autism Awareness Mouth- Blue Spun Sugar

Hello gorgeous! I haven't posted much lately because I'm getting ready for my prom that's on the 28th! I finally found my dress, and I've set up my hair appointment with one of my good friends, ordered the boutonniere (I chose a calla lily for him), have my shoes already, and all I have left to do is pick up the tickets, get my eyebrows waxed and choose what I want on my nails.  My dress is a very jewel toned almost vibrant purple (think Essie Sexy Divide). I think I'll do a cavier manicure or something else that would be fun...

I must say I'm particularity in love with the "spun sugar" manicures, even though they can be a pain in the butt to do if you're impatient like me! I used Zoya Codie as the base hoping it would give sort of a chocolate vibe to it.  If you ask me I'd say that it does, plus it helps the blue pop off the background.  For my blues I used ChG For Audrey and Sinful Colors Why not.  Because I'm so impatient and couldn't wait for the strings to get a little more wispy, my "spun sugar" are a little bit chunkier and I love it!

My pinky is my favorite!

April Showers Bring May Flowers Challege- April Showers

Hey y'all! I had my ASVAB test today and I passed! I'm so so so excited! I was so nervous this morning I woke up about 6 to get ready and do my nails to see if that would calm me down. I ended up deciding to do another challenge manicure. I'm not exactly fond of how my ring finger turned out with the raindrop, but for freaking out as much as I did I really like it! I used Zoya Jane as my base for every finger except my ring and thumb, which I used China Glaze Pelican Gray.  Originally I was just going to do a simple manicure using Jane, thinking that at least having polish on my nails would calm me down a bit(it didn't if you were wondering), so I then I went on with sponging on Sea Spray and a Color Club glitter that I can't remember the name of, but was part of the 2011 Holiday Collection....

This is what I came up with! No clean up....

This isn't the worlds best picture, and there really isn't excuse for all the topcoat smeared around my cuticles but I was nervous.

I hope you guys have an amazing weekend!

April Showers Bring May Flowers Challenge-Glitter Sammy

Hey darlin! I got another challenge post! 3 days and I'm actually keeping up with it this time!

Today I did the glitter sammy challenge using China Glaze Near Dark, and for my glitter Sinful Green Ocean. I love how this turned out because its a little unconventional using such a dark color but since Near Dark is a jelly it worked out perfectly! I need to remember doing a glitter sandwichs more often.

1 coat of Nail Envy, 1 coat Gelous, 2 coats Near Dark, 2 coats of Green Ocean, 1 coat Near Dark and then to top it off 2 coats of NYC fast dry topcoat.
This was my first time using Green Ocean and its amazing! It has glitter and flakies in it!

April Showers Challenge-Ladybugs!

Howdy! I hope ya'll had a great Easter or Passover this weekend! I have another challenge post! 2 down 12 to go! LOL! I hope I actually make it this time!
My...ahem...interesting looking lady bug. I used China Glaze Hey Sailor! as my base, which is one of my favorite polishes just because of the name.  I'm not sure if many of you guys know, but once I graduate from high school (June 10th!) I'm joining the US Navy! I orginally bought the entire Anchors Away Collection because of my big brother who's also a Sailor, but as things turn out, I'm going to one too!
Anyways! I used Wet n' Wild Black Creme and some cheapy white polish for the eyes.

I can't wait to show you guys glitter sandwich nails next!

Autism Awareness Manicure-Revlon Whimsical

Hola Chicas! I found Revlon Whimsical! Two to be exact, one for me and one for Spring Surprise lady on PAA. It took forever, but my local Meyers now has an entire row in the Revlon display devoted to them.
I used one coat of Whimsical over two coats of China Glaze Sea Spray.  These guys are made for each other! I actually surprised at how almost peaceful this polish looks. I've always associated light blues as calming and relaxing. As always my cuticles look happy don't they? I think I need to stop using pure acetone on them...

Stay tuned for more of my blue manicures!

Water Marble

Hey guys! I hope you can forgive me for posting another manicure that I took with my iPad. I can't find my camera right now! And I had other nail pictures to show you guys ugh! I know it's somewhere around my house just right now I can't find it unfortunately.
I did a very successful water marble last night! I love the way it came out and even added some dots to make it look like butterfly wings. I can't remember who's blog I saw with those but that's where I got my inspiration. I used a bunch of different polished sponged on to create the base color, and then for the marble I used China Glaze White Cap and WnW Black Creme.

I started a new challenge that *hopefully* I actually can keep up with! Day #1 was pastels, lately I've really wanted to do a skittles mani so pastel skittles it is! I love all of the polishes used in this it looks super Eastery too!

I used ChG Lemon Fizz, Butter LONDON Teddy Girl, Hard Candy Sky and Revlon Minted and Lilac Pastelle.

Green River

I got diet Green River! This is why I love St. Patrick's Day, Shamrock Shakes and I can get DIET Green River(I hate regular pop)  Must find a green polish that matches Green River.

Four Leaf Clover.  I don't think it's possible to capture a completely accurate picture of this. Under no means is this a match for the green in my beloved pop, but it was worth a try, and the name seemed fitting for my mood today.  I have no idea what kind of green I'd call this because it's almost kelly green but it's not because it seems to have a blueish undertone. Perfect for St. Patrick's Day though...
